Chris is co-owner of CrossFit Symmetry with his wife, Erica.  Chris is the lead trainer and head programmer for the gym.  He has been training and coaching CrossFit since 2009.  His favorite part of coaching at CrossFit Symmetry is getting to know each of the athletes in the gym and learning how he can help them reach their goals.

Erica Burke

Erica is the business side of this duo and prefers to coach from within the class.  After spending most of her life long distance running, she found herself physically challenged and motivated through CrossFit.  Her favorite part of CrossFit Symmetry is helping others become better every day and watching them achieve things they never thought they could.

Barry Hughes

Barry has an extensive background in the field of strength and conditioning.  His experience in the field includes coaching, personal training, athletic camp organization, supervision of athletic programs/ coaches and competing in various athletic competitions. Barry’s CrossFit journey began as a quest to further enhance his fitness. The movements, constantly varied programming and community provided the challenge and atmosphere he was looking for.  His favorite part of coaching at symmetry is watching people having fun with their fitness and helping them to achieve goals that have such a positive impact on them both in and out of the gym.

Amanda Feola

As a full-time Personal Trainer/CrossFit Coach/Nutrition Coach, I have always loved what I do and am passionate about helping others, but eventually became “burned out” myself from my monotonous routine hugely lacking variety, largely emphasizing comfort, and the fact that I stopped seeing any real change or results. I walked into my first CrossFit box almost 6 years ago and have never looked back. I was humbled, defeated and hooked in my first session. This continues to be a huge part of my life. I look forward to working out again while continuing to be challenged.  Most importantly I am part of a community that has now become family. This experience has changed my entire approach to working out and the approach I use to train my own clients. Coaching is a rewarding position that has allowed me to work with such a diverse group of individuals daily and help them to become the best version of themselves both physically and mentally.

Travis Showers

Travis started Crossfit in 2011 when Chris and Erica took him for a quick WOD of rowing, KBS and wallballs.  Chris and Erica finished a good five minutes before he did, but patiently waited for him to finish.  Very little has changed and you will find Travis is the first to a barbell (unless it is thrusters) and the last through the door into the gym on a run.   
Travis has his CFL1, Crossfit Strongman and USA Weightlifting certification.  His favorite part of coaching is working with athletes to fine tune movements to find better stability and strength in their lifts and discovering that they can do more than they believe they can.  Lifting heavy things is therapy and you will sometimes see him sneak an axle, stone or yoke into a workout.

Bekah Showers

Bekah is a registered nurse who was introduced to CrossFit by family in 2013. She received her CrossFit Level 1 certificate in 2016 while wanting to learn more and help others in the realm of CrossFit. She is currently working towards her massage therapy license in addition. Bekah strives to help others reach their full potential through health, wellness, and training.

Mike Regan

Mike started CrossFit in his brother’s basement in the summer of 2012.  He was immediately hooked and built his own garage gym soon after. Then he realized he was not getting the motivation a CrossFit box could offer and decided to check out CrossFit Symmetry.  He was immediately blown away by the coaching and community CFS offered.  In the summer of 2016, his growing passion for CrossFit led Mike to complete his Level 1 certification.  Mike has grown from within our community and been able to build a deeper relationship with each of our athletes and continually motivates us all in our fitness and faith journeys.  His favorite part of coaching has been the leadership traits he’s been able to develop personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Josh Deeter

After getting bored with the normal lifting, running, elliptical scene Josh started looking for something fresh and fun.  In 2014 Josh found Crossfit and the Symmetry family.   With his sports background through high school and college, Josh naturally felt at home with the competitiveness and community that Crossfit provides.  In the summer of 2015 Josh decided to get and received his Level 1 Certification. As a small business owner outside the gym and leader in his community and church, at Crossfit Symmetry Josh is able to live out his passions for fitness and health as well as help lead the CFS community to be the best they can be in heart, soul, strength and mind.

Sean Finegan

After playing college lacrosse, I was looking for a new challenge and something to train for.  I was  bored with going to the conventional gyms and training without any real purpose, or methodology behind what I was doing. I had heard of Crossfit and liked the concept but never made the jump to join a gym due to work and other reasons that I made up.
A friend of mine and Symmetry member, Joe Wohlleb, said that I should give Symmetry a try. I remember my first workout and telling Chris afterward that “I am definitely joining”. And it was after my first Open in 2016 that I became hooked and knew that this was something I would become passionate about. It was soon after that I decided to take my Level 1 and move into a coaching role.
I have been coaching lacrosse for about 8 years, so also taking on the challenge of coaching Crossfit seemed like a fitting idea.  I’ve greatly enjoyed the opportunity to share my insight in the weight room, both in Crossfit and athletics, in order to better the lives of the people around me.
Lastly, besides just working out, Symmetry has introduced me to many people that I now call my close friends.  It’s a special community and one that I am grateful to be a part of.

Taya Lewis
Yoga

Taya has spent nearly 15 years as a Registered Nurse with a special interest in nutrition and holistic healing. She began her Crossfit journey in 2011.  Later, after a fall on ice cause a traumatic leg injury, she began her pursuit of yoga in 2013. The injury led her to pursue training in Hatha yoga with the Sivananda lineage. When she began her journey as a Certified Yoga Instructor more than three years ago, she found a way to help clients, customers, friends, and family take their health and well-being into their own hands.  As a CrossFit athlete and yogi, she is dedicated to sharing her knowledge of movement, posture, focus, meditation and breathing in order that CrossFit Symmetry has not only the strongest athletes possible but also the most balanced.
